[Happy] What did we say guys?
We practically begged everyone to watch at least a match today. We felt it that Football was in for a treat today. It was really amazing, the goals from everywhere so thrilling. What a day! Do you know there were 46 goals in the 11 matches we followed? Please permit us to say more than usual today:
.
.
- Congratulations to Chelsea again today. They are worthy Champions that added another gloss to their shine – a record 30 wins in 38 games in the Premier League. Great game of 6 goals. Great send-forth for John Jerry we had another respect for today after hearing his speech. He is a real Leader. Well done Blues.
.
.
- Congratulations Real Madrid. Wow…You are now Champions of Spain since 2012. Ronaldo made them calm with an early goal. Benzema put it beyond reach with the second goal. We are really happy for Real. Zidane has really made his mark. Not up to 2 seasons yet, he’s won almost all trophies on Club level. It’s been a terrific season. Hala Madrid!
.
.
- Congratulations Juventus… Maybe this is not new news, but it’s great. Never a dull moment as a Champion. Hmm… morale would be so high for the Champions League Final.
.
.
- But did you guys see Tottenham and Harry Kane? What has become of Tottenham? They want to kill everyone since they couldn’t win the League? We saw the highlight over and over again. They are just wonderful. Who would believe Harry Kane would win the Golden Ball with 29 goals?
.
.
- City Nko? Mehn… More like Football came alive for the top teams of England. We enjoyed Man City’s goals too. And unlike Tottenham or Chelsea, they would not concede. Really nice.
.
.
- The Red side of Manchester closed the season so well. A real morale boost for the Europa Finals on Wednesday. Pogba’s criticism may not cease, but his game was up there today. Come to think of it: Mourinho ehh! He wouldn’t just wait for the extra seconds before substituting Pogba in half-time? He is such an eccentric man. We felt him sha. He is in a different club, but 2 clubs that won the league today had his name mentioned somehow - being the last coach that won the league for Chelsea and Real Madrid.
.
.
- Liverpool… no no no…no one should walk alone. Well done. Top 4 is where you belong after a great showing against the top teams. Your kindness to small team gave you every luck [Robinhood]. Fans almost died when Arsenal scored 2 and you wouldn’t score. But you kept calm, and sealed it. Well done. #YNWA
.
.
- We are so sorry Arsenal. Your fate depended on another that would not give you something. That was a really impressive game after going a man down. You showed real character. Keep your head up high. You are the only one in the top 6 teams that has consistently been top for 20 years. That was a really good one today.
.
.
- Off course, we talked about it this morning. One thing Barcelona has is BELIEVE! It was very awkward today though. On the very day the title was to be won, they fell 2 goals down. They missed chances, Messi missed a penalty. Only BELIEVE was not missing. And the believe transcended to 4 goals from nothing. The said Messi dribbled and scored from almost half way. What a gift on the last day of the League.
.
.
Yeah… Milan is not a Club many talk about these days. Fans are probably quiet here in Nigeria. We are really happy they did well like other teams today. 3 goals to nothing was just delightful.
.
.
Thank you Atletico. Or maybe Bettors would say thanks better. All top teams won and you wouldn’t stay out. It was a perfect day we must say. Thank you Atletico.
.
.
In the presence of so much, and the need not to favor any team today, we give credit to

Cashless policy: Reps, CBN agree no time limit for old naira notes 31/01/2023

Published by   ECHEKWU SUNDAY  JNR @  EKUM BLOG  The House of Representatives and the Central Bank of Nigeria have agreed that a time limit will no longer apply to the validity of old naira notes after the expiration of the February 10 deadline set by the apex bank. This means that the face value of the old N1000, N500 and N200 notes will continue to be redeemable in compliance with Section 20 (3) of the CBN Establishment Act. Banks will continue to mop up the notes after they cease to be legal tender on February 10 without a time limit. The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, was directed to submit a weekly report on releases of the new notes to commercial banks so that the House could verify claims by the CEOs of the banks that the apex bank had not been releasing enough cash to them. The CBN was also directed to restore over-the-counter transactions by the banks and increase Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cash withdrawal limits in order to fast-track the circulation of the new no
