THREE THEORIES OF POPULATION

Top 3 Theories of Population . The following points highlight the top three theories of population. The theories are: 1. The Malthusian Theory of Population 2. The Optimum Theory of Population 3. The Theory of Demographic Transition. Population: Theory # 1. The Malthusian Theory of Population: Thomas Robert Malthus enunciated his views about population in his famous book, Essay on the Principle of Population as it affects the Future Improvement of Society, published in 1798. Malthus revolted against the prevailing optimism shared by his father and Godwin that a perfect state could be attained if human restraints could be removed. Malthus objection was that the pressure of increasing population on the food supply would destroy perfection and there would be misery in the world. Malthus was severely criticised for his pessimistic views which led him to travel on the continent of Europe to gather data in support of his thesis. MORAL STORY.

DAY-2; MONDAY. Story of A Blind Love There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she’s blind.  She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend.  He’s always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”  The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying “Just take care of my eyes dear”.

Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and begin to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s amazement he quieted down. PAUL ALAO FADDA SPEECH.

Paul Alao Fadda, the grammarian has once again dropped another bombshell. I proclaim lachrymosely as some historical events are never fugacious, yes. We all remember how the anomalous anti-authoritarianism rouse up to a clamorous remonstration when the late President Umaru Yar’adua was off the grid… just for the purpose of honorificabilitudinitatibus, self-acclamation, and testimonial. Still fresh in my memory! Today, our commander in chief is in a compendious laconic lacuna…the administration’s failed promises and the violation of the rule of law kicking us in the face, the entire country is in a financial Bantingism, economic discombobulation, and another debilitating lemma… The same Soyinka, Falana, and others have chosen to remain tight-lipped, reticent and uncommunicative over these odoriferous and nefarious lemmas. To me it’s an irreparable relegation, not just a boo-boo, but, a bringdown, despondency, fraux pas, fiasco and a blind alley. Do not kowtow in their powwow!!

NIGERIAN POPULATION GROWTH AND ITS IMPLICATIONS.

Nigerian population growth and its implications for economic development. Okpala AO. Scand J Dev Altern. 1990. Show full citation Abstract PIP: The population of Nigeria is growing at a rate of 3.75%/year indicating a doubling of the population every 22 years. Demographers estimated the population to be 91,178,000 in 1985. Even though population density is high (288 people/square mile), it is not equally distributed. It is highest in the south and southwest urban areas such as Lagos (1045 people/square mile) and lowest in the northeast (75 people/square mile). Moreover rural-urban migration is growing. A major reason for rural-urban migration is the dual nature of the economy in Nigeria. In urban areas, economic development brings about higher standards of living, but, in rural areas, a subsistence economy predominates. This coupled with rapid population growth results in small or no growth in per capita income. Only if the government were to integrate redistribution policies into

POPULATION AND VITAL STATISTICS IN NIGERIAN ECONOMY

Population And Vital Statistics Nigeria Economy . 1. Introduction One important area where data collection is essential is human population. Its data collection procedure is usually by direct enumeration carried out for every individual in the territory at approximately the same time. Collecting data on human population is, therefore, a complex series of related activities. There is no gainsaying the fact that accurate population statistics is vital to sound development planning and economic management. This explains the seriousness attached to the assemblage of population and vital statistics in the country today. Apart from the information on the stock of country’s population, it is essential to know the rate at which the population is changing, structurally and in the aggregate. Vital statistics as computable from registration of important events (especially births and deaths), constitute an important set of data for studying the dynamics of a country’s population. However, Nige

POPULATION CENSUSES IN NIGERIA

History of Population Censuses in Nigeria HISTORY OF POPULATION CENSUSES IN NIGERIA Nigeria has a long history of census takings spanning over a century. The first census was conducted in 1866 and this was followed by Censuses of 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901. However, all these earlier censuses were restricted to Lagos Colony and its environs. The 1871 census marked the beginning of decennial census taking in Nigeria in line with the British decennial tradition. Following the amalgamation of the Lagos Colony and the Southern Protectorate in 1906, the 1911 census extended to some parts of the Southern Protectorate. It was marred by incomplete enumeration because some parts of the South had not recognized the legitimacy of the Colonial Government. The amalgamation of the Southern and Northern protectorates in 1914 by Lord Lugard provided the impetus for population census that had wider coverage. Like in other censuses, the results of 1921 census were population estimates based on tax re

PEOPLE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ( PDP) BLAST BUHARI.

Killings: PDP Urges Buhari to Visit Benue... Says President’s indifference is alarming The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Mohammadu Buhari to show empathy to the plight of Nigerians by paying a visit on the people of Benue State to condole with victims of the horrific killing of defenseless Nigerians by marauders. It is very sad to note that in its insensitivity, the Federal Government did not consider it important to send a delegation to the burial of those massacred in Benue and till date, there has been no Presidential visit of any sort to commiserate with the people of Benue and other states where Nigerians are being slaughtered by bandits under the APC regime. The PDP is worried that while innocent Nigerians were still being slaughtered and families crying out for help, the President was busy receiving APC governors on orchestrated self-serving visit to Aso Rock to endorse his personal ambition for a second tenure; a time when a soothing word and practica

What is constructivism in international relations? up vote 6 down vote favorite 1 Understanding realism and liberalism is quite simple (to me at least) but, what is constructivism? It is definitely not a little bit of both realism and liberalism as I falsely assumed. I have tried looking it up on various other sites, but all had some confusing if not conflicting ideas. A real life example would definitely help. international   international-relations share improve this question edited  May 18 '13 at 14:21 yannis ♦ 5,789 3 37 60 asked  May 18 '13 at 6:05 Chandough 154 1 1 3 votes up vote 11 down vote It is an  international relations theory  that believes that States exist within a world of our own making, and that they are social rather than material.
