MY ORDEAL AT THE TRANSIT WHILE COMING BACK FROM SCHOOL

SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE TO YOUR CHILDREN
. Good day reader, the story you're about to read is a life story experience I had, not been told or figment of imaginations ( fiction). ( GOD IS MY WITNESS) My name is Echekwu Sunday, I'm an undergraduate in one of the prestigious universities in this country Nigeria. In your assertion, if you are tempted to call me "A VILLAGE BOY" I'll not hae any hard feelings because I'm just a 21st century grassroot thinker. #lol. WHAT IS THE POINT? In one of my numerous travelings down home after school's holiday, I boarded a bus which happened that, the place the bus is going, all of us in the vehicle are the same IDOMA-LANGUAGE speaking origin. Before the vehicle kick started the journey, I had an opportunity to had had greetings with the elderly ones among us and a word of "Hi!" With my other people at same range of age with me. You know, when a dignitary meets dignitaries the result is always different #wink. unlike some of us when you see your country man ( tribal person) you will be looking for means to keep him or her off your side because you heard or had an unpleasant stories before... I don't know your experience though. Like I was saying, there was a man in the vehicle after seeing or hearing us blasting IDOMA LANGUAGE, he was filled with awe. DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE SAID TO US? THE MAN: My children I'm really proud of you, it baffles me a lot when I see other children speaking IDOMA language, mostly, fluently like you people are doing now; but my own children case is absolutely different, non of my children can speak IDOMA language and the most annoying part is that, both mother and father are from IDOMA origin. Could you imaging that, I had a visitor so I called my elderly son to run an errand so that we will surprise the visitor, after telling my son in a plain IDOMA language which I thought he was the one that understands IDOMA language most he came to me and said in English language that he don't understand what I asked him in IDOMA language to go and buy. Then the visitor smiled and said no need to buy anything that he was about to take his leave though. I laid down my head ashamedly. ME: I felt his pain but I didn't blame the boy reason why is that, I presumed the man to be the type that hardly or not at all take his children to the village on holidays and don't have time to teach his children their language. There is an adage which says: practice makes perfect, he was expecting a perfect omega while Alpha is been absent. During this Christmas, take your children home, its their village, they will not die, let them know where they belong regardless the fact that, they are opened to modernization. For those who says there are witches and wizards at the village, using that pretext as pivot of not taking their children home, thank you sir, thank you ma' remember that, God has destined each an everyone of us the way he wants us to leave the earth; if anybody will die of witch craft, it doesn't matter wherever he or she is staying be it in a developed or advanced country unlike ours. Stop using that excuses, if you don't have the means why not be bold enough to tender your apologizes and show remorse for it? Know your duties as a parent. LET THEM LEARN ENGLISH AT SCHOOL AND WITHIN THEIR PAIRS WHILE YOU TEACH AND SPEAK IDOMA ( YOUR LANGUAGE) TO THE THEM AT HOME. HAPPY CHRISTMAS IN ADVANCE FROM THE VILLAGE HEAD BOY. Cashless policy: Reps, CBN agree no time limit for old naira notes 31/01/2023

Published by   ECHEKWU SUNDAY  JNR @  EKUM BLOG  The House of Representatives and the Central Bank of Nigeria have agreed that a time limit will no longer apply to the validity of old naira notes after the expiration of the February 10 deadline set by the apex bank. This means that the face value of the old N1000, N500 and N200 notes will continue to be redeemable in compliance with Section 20 (3) of the CBN Establishment Act. Banks will continue to mop up the notes after they cease to be legal tender on February 10 without a time limit. The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, was directed to submit a weekly report on releases of the new notes to commercial banks so that the House could verify claims by the CEOs of the banks that the apex bank had not been releasing enough cash to them. The CBN was also directed to restore over-the-counter transactions by the banks and increase Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cash withdrawal limits in order to fast-track the circulation of the new no
