The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has suspended the use of the USSD code in checking results of the 2021 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The development was due to some challenges being witnessed using the platform.

The board has therefore urged candidates to visit its website to check their results.

It announced this in a statement released on its website on Saturday.

The statement read, “It has come to the attention of the board that the result checking on USSD code 55019 is saddled with some challenges.

“Consequently, the board hereby directs all candidates to visit JAMB portal to check their 2021 UTME result.”

It added, “Candidates can check their results from anywhere there is internet access. Checking by USSD code 55019 is suspended.”

Visit the JAMB result checking portal at https://

portal.jamb.gov.ng/eFacility_/

CheckUTMEResults.

Enter your JAMB Registration Number in the required column.

Click on ‘Check My Results’.

The portal will load your result if it is ready.

Cashless policy: Reps, CBN agree no time limit for old naira notes 31/01/2023

Published by ECHEKWU SUNDAY JNR @ EKUM BLOG The House of Representatives and the Central Bank of Nigeria have agreed that a time limit will no longer apply to the validity of old naira notes after the expiration of the February 10 deadline set by the apex bank. This means that the face value of the old N1000, N500 and N200 notes will continue to be redeemable in compliance with Section 20 (3) of the CBN Establishment Act. Banks will continue to mop up the notes after they cease to be legal tender on February 10 without a time limit. The CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, was directed to submit a weekly report on releases of the new notes to commercial banks so that the House could verify claims by the CEOs of the banks that the apex bank had not been releasing enough cash to them.
