Last episode of THE HEAT OF A VIRGINITY

THE HEAT OF VIRGINITY - EPISODE 20 I left my house early enough in order to be there before 2pm, considering the traffic. I was there by 1.43pm and she was not yet there, so i bought a drink to pass time with. Some minutes after two, she came in and located me where i was sitting. I stood up and welcomed her with a hug. Then she sat down with a smile, asking me if i went to church. I replied positively, then she said, "good. I would have spanked you." With a smile, i said thank God. I asked if she would have anything, she said she was okay, that a bottle of water would be perfect. I got her one, then she asked, "so honey, what's the problem?" I knew the hour has come...looking her directly into her eyes, i said, "I have a son." I paused there to see her reaction but she was very calm and then i went straight to say, "I cannot carry on with the wedding." Ella voiced out, "Ade! what are you talking about?" I told her, "Ella

STORY TIME AT NIGERIAN NEWS VENDOR

Story time..... The Heat of Virginity* Episode 1 My name is adeolu. There’s a saying. “What can’t kill you can make you stronger.” But the truth is action speaks louder than mere words. I don’t know how strong I will be coming out from this predicament that I have found myself. This all started about 2 years ago in my youth service year in Kogi state. There was this very good canteen not too far from Yagba East local government council, where I frequent often for my CDS. It was the aroma that lured me to the place, the savory of scented stew and fried meat, it was irresistible, I couldn’t just evade myself from the luscious captivity that overwhelmed me Perhaps, a simple restrain would have changed history, would have saved me from all these. As I entered the canteen, I grabbed a plate and stood on the queue salivating and waiting for my turn. When it got to my turn, before me was something more compelling than the meal that I expected. My eyes got locked in co

PDP SENATORS CONDEMN POLICE RAID ON EKWEREMADU'S GUEST HOUSE

PDP Senators condemn police raid on Ekweremadu’s guest house The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senate Caucus Friday evening condemned in strong terms the police raid on Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu’s guest house in Abuja. The police on Friday raided the National Assembly guest house in Abuja assigned to the use of the Deputy Senate President Senator Ekweremadu. The police was said to have claiming that a whistle blower tipped them off that Ekweremadu hid arms and money in the property. The Caucus in a statement in Abuja by its spokesman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe described the Police action as unwarranted, unacceptable and a deliberate attempt to muzzle the opposition. Abaribe also faulted police explanations that they acted on whistle blower tip off. He noted that the “failed gestapo-like operation was nothing but a smokescreen to cover up a carefully orchestrated plot to intimidate Senator Ekweremadu and by so doing cow the opposition from pointing out the f

GOV. ORTOM ON RADIO BENUE

GOV. ORTOM ON RADIO BENUE By Tersoo Zambe I listened to Governor Samuel Ortom on an interactive programme on Radio Benue via the internet in far away, Mexico. At the end of the two hour programme, the Governor left me pondering over some issues he raised. In an attempt to get clarification, I tried to call but didn't get through. I sent a text message but was not taken, maybe it did not deliver. To start with, the Governor spent 56 minutes to answer question one which was on why democracy day should be celebrated. Of course he used the opportunity to settle some political scores. It reminded me of my interview with former minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku in Jerusalem sometime ago when I asked him one question and he answered in over 20 minutes. But my concerns are: 1. In response to questions, comments and observations on demand for better services from contributors, the Governor kept saying "when funds are available". He however did not say what his adminis

Whistle blowing in BENUE STATE: Abubakar Tsav exposes Samuel Ortom

Whistle Blowing in Benue: Abubakar Tsav Exposes Samuel Ortom, Writes Presidency, Security Agencies By Joseph Asawa An Elder statesman and watchdog of social justice, Alhaji Abubakar B. Tsav has dragged the Benue state governor Dr. Samuel Ortom before the presidency and other relevant security agencies over reasons of using his office to acquire ill-wealth for himself, family, cronies, favoured ones and in-laws. Alhaji Tsav whose action was informed by the pronouncement by government to expose corrupt persons both in government and private sector disclosed that while the peasant of Benue people are living in extreme poverty under the APC led administration, the governor has derived pleasure in exploiting them using the Bible, yet he call himself “Man of God”. The former Police Commissioner was emphatic that while Benue state government activities are suffering neglect, Oracle Businesses which is the family businesses of the governor are blossoming to a conglomerate which has now ex

PDP TO APC DEMOCRACY DAY

The APC @ 2: Just Crass Governance…Nothing To Celebrate - PDP Tomorrow, May 29, 2017 marks another ‘Democracy Day’ and two years that our great Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bequeathed democratic governance to the Current Administration of the All Progressive Congress (APC); which it has already squandered given its intolerance and highhandedness to any form of opposition, as well as crass ineptitude in governance. We make bold to state that our deepest concern as a Party to grow democracy in Nigeria engendered the solid foundation we put in place and guaranteed the agreeable atmosphere that enabled oppositions to thrive and consequently won elections. Unfortunately, this same Party, the APC that benefited from free access to political space has left no stone unturned in suppressing the PDP and denying it to provide credible opposition in the Country. It is Ironic! 2. For the Record, Democracy Day in Nigeria is heralded by the PDP as a day set aside to celebrate the enfor

MARK VS ORTOM D BARROW: GYADO'S MISADVENTURE.

Former Senate President Senator David Mark May not have anticipated the attacks from his Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom over his comment on Wheel Barrow saga now dubbed " Ortom D Barrow" in Port Harcourt , Rivers State last Tuesday . The response by Governor Samuel Ortom’s aide, Terver Akase does not even deserve a mention here as it was too banal and shallow in both thought and manner of delivery. You work for a governor who for 16 years had been a member of the PDP and rose to become state official, national auditor and minister, yet you accuse the party of doing nothing thinking you’re exonerating the governor. Surely, there can’t be a better example of idiocy. The one that can be helped to the status of remark by a minion is the piece by one Ken Gyado, who from nowhere rediscovered himself as an advocate of good governance and sought to deride Mark (Can you imagine!) based on that. Mark was in Port-Hacourt and commended the Governor or Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, f
